Fees and funding
Open access publishing is not without costs. IZA Journal of Labor Policy therefore levies an article-processing charge of £980/$1535/€1250 for each article accepted for publication.
If the corresponding author's institution participates in our open access membership program, some or all of the publication cost may be covered (more details available on the membership page). We routinely waive charges for authors from low-income countries. For other countries, article-processing charge waivers or discounts are granted on a case-by-case basis to authors with insufficient funds. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process.
For further information and a detailed FAQ section, see our article-processing charge page.
SpringerOpen provides a free open access funding support service to help authors discover and apply for article processing charge funding. Visit our OA funding and policy support page to view our list of worldwide research funders and institutions that provide funding for APCs, and to learn more about our email support service. Sources of APC funding are listed by country, and links to each organisation’s open access funding and policy/information pages have been included where available. For further information on the different types of APC funding as well as how to locate and secure such funding, view our open access funding FAQs.
IZA has funds to sponsor APCs for a limited number of articles in the IZA journals available. IZA Fellows and authors with no access to funding support from one of the sources described in the section on Article-processing charges on the About page can apply for APC sponsorship. Please contact the Editorial Office at APCsponsorship@iza.org for information and to apply for IZA funding support.
